Flood assessment and early warning of the reoccurrence of river blockage at the Baige landslide

On 10th Oct. and 3rd Nov. 2018, two successive landslides occurred in the Jinsha River catchment at Baige Village, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The blocked major river formed barrier lake, which finally caused huge flood disaster loss. hillslope landslide site has been still deforming after 2018 slidings, is likely to fail block again future. Therefore investigation of a great significance provide classic case for assessment early warning future disaster. detailed survey revealed that outstanding inundations induced bank collapse disasters upstream dams, field investigations hydrological simulation suggested downstream were seriously flooded due periods outburst floods. these bases, process potential floods was advised, contains four stages: Outburst Flood Simulating Stage, Forecasting Emergency Plan Evacuation Stage. study offers conceptual model mitigation high-relief mountainous region Tibet.
